How Does JANUS Works

Our JANUS solution is a server side application that does not require any special client side software. When a user is using JANUS to access their online banking or other secure online content, it protects the users’ privacy by not requesting user information to be sent over the network which can be intercepted.

JANUS is made up of 2 separate parts utilizing 2 patented technologies. These can be used separately or together.

  1. MESSAGE DISSEMINATION - Behind the scenes JANUS continually verifies the authentication and data transactions utilizing its unique message dissemination technology.JANUS randomizes the content of the web page display i.e. Item name, File name.In security terms JANUS only works on white lists; it is only interested in the right answer.
  2. HUMAN FACTOR AUTHENTICATION -The HFA means a user can independently set up the security according to their own personality and favorites using icon, sounds and other objects and methods that is only processed or comprehended by that person.

HFA is a continuous process which a user and service provider mutually authenticate each other with JANUS server throughout the entire transaction step by step. Challenges available now are as listed as follows:                                                                                                                                             

  1. Username Challenge – the service provider validates user, and JANUS server validates the service provider and the user.
  2. Password Challenge – User validate the service provider and JANUS server validate the user on behalf of the service provider, user should not provide password unless the preferred HFA object is correctly presented.  
  3. Image Challenge – JANUS server validate the user on half of the service provider and user validates the service provider. User identifying the legality of the website by the inclusion of preferred image from the random image grid, and JANUS identify the user from the sequence of click within the image grid.
  4. Captcha Challenge – User validate the service provider and the JANUS server validate the user, and notify the server for any duress signal for transactionintegrity.  JANUS server identifies the user from analyzing how the message embedded in the captcha image is returned.  
  5. Data integrity Challenger – JANUS server validate transaction data set provided by the user action and the service provider will be using to complete a transaction, with the exception of the username challenge which always occurs at the beginning of the transaction, other challenges may be implemented freely and there is no need of a sequential operation. The type of challenge can be used often as it is required or as appropriate.
